Outreach and citizen science
I currently serve as administrator of Líquenes-PR, a Facebook group that promotes the appreciation of lichens in Puerto Rico and provides feedback about taxonomic identity of lichens photographed by nature enthusiasts in the island. Check out the group here!
Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accesibility (IDEA)
I am (and have been) deeply commited in transforming science and lichenology as fields with a strong sense of social justice. I truly believe these fields should be more diverse, inclusive and equitable, particularly in terms of membership and social impact/commitment.
To contribute in this direction, I have been involved in several IDEA initiatives. To learn more about them or exchange ideas, feel free to reach out. At present, I proudly serve as co-founder and co-chair of the Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accesibility (IDEA) Committee of the International Association of Lichenology.
